Vorwerk took a big step forward today by launching it’s OFFICIAL Thermomix YouTube channel. This more visible corporate presence is sure to be well received by Thermomix sales consultants around the world. As an “unofficial fan blog” SuperKitchenMachine.com does not sell Thermomix, but we do celebrate any occasion that helps make Thermomix better known and more available to cooks around the world. An official YouTube channel will go a long way towards making Thermomix a household name, and that’s a good thing.
Something here for everyone?
At time of this posting not all videos on the Thermomix YouTube channel constitute essential watching. Some are culturally obtuse and a little more vague than we’d like to see. Despite the channel’s English-language leanings, videos appear to be intended for an international audience, with no clear direction towards markets in either Australia, UK, or North America. Surely this will improve as newly created content is added.
But for now, new Thermomix shoppers and dedicated fans alike can enjoy a peek inside the factory at Cloyes-sur-Loir were all Thermomix/Bimby are made. (We visited this factory in last year’s unofficial video post “Who made your Thermomix?“) Yes, it’s from this humble high-tech factory in the French countryside that each and every Thermomix starts its journey to kitchens around the world! Official videos have their place but there’s no question they can also leave us with a somewhat surreal candy-coated corporate aftertaste. Those who land on the Thermomix YouTube channel to research Thermomix before buying are sure to learn about the manufacturer’s solid reputation and history of the machine, but will also gain much from watching less professional videos produced by Thermomix enthusiasts around the world.
Vorwerk’s Thermomix brand has a cult-like following that rivals that of the iPhone and iPad. It’s a rare, respected, and much-envied phenomenon, when a brand’s global customer base participates so actively and voluntarily in its promotion; where the primary reward is in the fun and satisfaction of owning a product and unlocking its full potential. This kind of unified dedicated enthusiasm is a testament to the quality of the product and the life-changing pleasures it offers its users.
