listen up: new Thermomix podcast by the 4 Blades
Thermomix has certainly come a long way since I started blogging about the super kitchen machine in 2009. At that time there was not much to be found online beyond the fabulous forum, a few intrepid Thermomix bloggers, and a tiny handful of english-language videos. Later came Thermomix recipe ebooks, apps, tweeters, facebook pages, and Pinterest boards. But today is special because we’re adding “Thermomix podcast” to the list!
Rebecca and Joe Winston are two Thermomix loving Brisbanites who are also passionate about food and celebration. Together they produce “the 4 Blades” a 20-minute weekly Thermomix podcast for sharing favourite recipes, interviews, and helpful tips with Thermomix fans around the planet.
Why listen to this Thermomix podcast?
If podcast #1 and podcast #2 are any indication, the 4 Blades Thermomix podcast is already a winner. (Plus, they’ve picked such a great name for it!) Rebecca and Joe are naturals with the microphone. Their tone is upbeat but laid back. They sound so friendly, you’ll be wishing they’d buy the house next door and move right in. You’ll want to adopt them as surrogate aunts and uncles for your kids. I wanted to reach right across the airwaves with a cold Thermomix beverage and invite them to my next BBQ. (Having them on podcast in my pocket will have to suffice for now.)
Clearly the Winstons are learning as they go and this is a most endearing quality. Their voices are fresh and fun, their experiences are real and relevant. The podcast is not too long, nor too short — just right.
Listening to a Thermomix podcast is easier than you think. (You don’t even need to own a pod!)
Think of a podcast as a mini radio program. All you need to do is click here to listen to the podcast on your computer from the 4 Blades website. Or, download to your device from the itunes store (no worries, it’s free!) If you’ve never listened to a podcast, let this be your first. Podcasts are so convenient: you can listen as you do the dishes, fold the laundry, drive to pick up the kids, relax with a cup of coffee, mow the lawn, soak in the tub, or go for a walk. (Yep, I’ve listened to podcasts while doing all these!) I suppose for some of us multi-taskers, podcasts are the equivalent of chocolate…
It’s typical for podcasters to publish “show notes” to accompany each broadcast. This serves as an easy reference point for links to websites and recipes mentioned by Joe and Rebecca. It means there’s no need to take notes while we listen. When you need it, just look up the episode on the 4 Blades website to find show notes for any special links they mentioned.
What is the Thermomix podcast about?
At time of this writing, all I know for sure is that Rebecca and Joe love talking about Thermomix as much as they love to use it. Their first Thermomix podcast revealed an interesting story of how (and where!) they discovered Thermomix, plus two recipe ideas from favourite blogs, a recipe add-on for gardeners, and some shopping tips to benefit Thermomix fans who use nuts ;-) Like you, I look forward to the adventure of listening to the next episode!
