About the blog:
Started in the summer of 2010, Why is There Air is quickly becoming a barometer for the increasing interest in Thermomix from the UK. Blogger Madame Thermomix is an enthusiastic Thermomix demonstrator in the Surrey/Hampshire area. She also runs a small catering company and with (equally enthusiastic) husband John enjoys organizing 8-course wine tasting dinners for private clients. Formerly a bistro chef/proprietor in USA and also a long-term resident of France, “Madame” now brings her tri-cultural culinary repertoire to the tables of Thermomix-curious gastronomes in Britain. Her blog at Why is There Air contains spicy descriptions of Madame’s recent adventures with fresh local foods, fun times, and Thermomix!

I was missing for a week and I find loads and loads of stuff to read. I really don’t have time, Helene… I’ll have to stop sleeping altogether.

Yup! You and me both Mara… I have been so busy, it feels like I’ve been away for a week! Hey, wait a minute — who’s been writing on my blog?!? ;-)

WOnderful! I can’t wait to visit her! Thank you!
Also – found a recipe for making one’s own Sweetened Condensed milk and it looks like it can be adapted with the Thermomix. Interested? I could send it to you?
I will do it eventually, but no need right now, and you are the best translater of recipes into Thermomix I knwo!

Thanks Valerie ;-) It’s a great idea for those who want to make their own ingredients, as buying condensed milk in the cans is ridiculously expensive here. Since I don’t have time to do a full post now, here’s a wee recipe that I came across recently on a Spanish site: simply put 300g sugar and 200g powdered milk into the bowl with 150ml. water or milk. Cook 10 min/90°C/speed 3. (Store in fridge.)
