Bimby Billy’s Raw Oatmeal

For breakfast this morning I decided to try making raw oatmeal in the Thermomix.  It was delicious and tasted better than any cooked oatmeal I have ever tried.  It was also very simple to make.

Ingredients (per serving):

½ cup rolled oats (soak overnight in 3/4 cup water)
½  small apple
1 tsp maple syrup
½ tsp cinnamon
small handful raisins

Method:

In the morning I peeled and cored the half apple and dropped it onto spinning blades at speed 5 for a few seconds.

I then added the raw oatsmaple syrupcinnamon and raisins and set the Bimby for 3 minutes at 37°C/100ºF on speed 2.  (You may have to push the mixture down once or twice.)

This can be made hotter, but at 37°C/100ºF the enzymes in the raw food stay alive and are not destroyed.  For a smoother consistency, process a few seconds at speed 5 before adding the raisins.  I enjoy this without milk or cream but you can add anything you like to this cereal.  Banana slices or berries of some kind can really compliment the earthy flavors of the oats, apple and cinnamon.

I am grateful and amazed! This site is already working. Thank you, Helene, Billy, and Thermomixer! This is exactly what we want – references to other similar ideas. Bravo… and I am going to make my own version from these two!
    Cheers,
